About Shotaro Dabbs
Aloha, I'm Shotaro Dabbs, a Waikiki native whose life has been shaped by the unique challenges and strengths of our community. From witnessing my father's incarceration and homelessness to experiencing the tireless determination of my single mother, these experiences have instilled a deep commitment within me to serve our community.
I attended Waikiki Elementary School, Kaimuki Middle School, and Kalani High School until I was 16, when I dropped out and earned my GED at McKinley Adult School. From then on, I worked full-time to support my household and gain valuable work experience in various industries, including food, hospitality, and mostly retail. In 2023, I began working at the Hawaii State Capitol as a Legislative Aide. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to become a public servant and dedicate my life to serving our community.
My campaign is driven by the reality of our daily lives here in Hawaii. It's about understanding and addressing the issues that touch each of us. This isn't just about politics; it's about people—our neighbors, our families, our friends. I have not only seen people struggle but have lived that very same struggle.
Join us in our journey to support Hawaii and create a community where opportunity, compassion, and unity are strengthened. I am here to listen, to understand, and to advocate for a Hawaii that we can all proudly call home. Mahalo for your support.
